I am a licensed psychologist and behavioral scientist and split my time between working with clients and conducting federally funded clinical research. As an active researcher, I benefit from staying current with the most recent therapeutic developments, allowing me to tailor the best evidence-based practices to serve my client's various needs. While some people start therapy to address a specific problem such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or grief, others use therapy to learn more about themselves and enhance personal growth or reach their full potential. Whether it be as an individual, couple, or family, therapy can be an empowering journey of self-awareness and life improvement. During therapy, you will explore the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that impact your life while gaining new strategies, skills, and tools to create positive and lasting change. I strive to have and convey unconditional positive regard for every client. I employ a mix of candor and compassion and I work to create a safe place to discuss any topic that will move you forward to improving your well-being. My goal is to work together to accomplish your goals. If you don't know what your goals are, we can work together to figure those out and how to accomplish them. At times, therapy can be difficult and emotionally painful, but with the right support, the journey is ultimately highly rewarding. There are many approaches to therapy and no two therapists are the same in how they practice. It is important to find a good match for your needs, yet that is hard to determine through a website.
